About the Author

My name is Dianna and I'm from just outside of Washington, DC in Maryland. I spend my days in the world of higher education both professionally and educationally. In September 2013, I decided to go back to graduate school so I'm learning to navigate work, school and craftiness. I've just moved into my own place so that leaves me with a teeny-tiny crafting budget! It should be fun!

When I'm not crafting, I enjoy writing for a spell, reading for a spell, baking for a spell, and traveling as often as possible! I'm a bit of a secret geek - I love all things sci-fi/fantasy. I also love the color blue, snow, moose, funny cat pictures, and sweets.

You will most definitely see pictures of my kitten, Violet, from time to time. If you follow the painted paw prints, you will find her with a face full of glitter.

About the Blog

Craft A Spell was officially created on 11-11-11. It was started as a place of sanity during a long period of unemployment that I suffered from. For most of my life, I was always creative but never crafty. I would buy things instead of making them. Unemployment, however, flipped a switch in my brain. I went from 'I want that, let's buy it' to 'I want that, I can't afford it, can I make it?' With all the extra time on my hands, I realized that the only thing I loved more than making new things was sharing them so I created the blog! Here you will find craft tutorials, recipes, and home decor projects (such as ideas for organizing and furniture refinishing)!
