Last weekend, I went to a get-together kind of at the last minute. I wanted to bring a treat to the party and I tried to think of what I had around my apartment. I decided to go with brownies. I also had a bag of Oreos waiting to be eaten. So I thought...Oreo stuffed brownies!
I began with this amazing brownie recipe. However, I only had one egg so here is what I did:
-4 1/2 tablespoons of water
-4 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
-3 teaspoons baking powder
-1 egg
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 cup butter, melted
-3 cups sugar
-1 tablespoon vanilla
-1 1/2 cups of flour
-1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-box of Oreos (I used double stuffed but next time I might try regular)
First I mixed the baking powder, salt, flour, and cocoa powder. In a separate bowl, I mixed the water, vegetable oil, egg, melted butter, and vanilla with the sugar. Then I combined the two ingredients. I decided to make individual brownies so I lined my muffin tin with liners and filled them about a quarter to a third of the way.
NOTE: I WOULD NOT make these using cupcake liners again! The paper stuck to the brownies and it was impossible to get them off. Just grease the pan.
Press one Oreo into each slightly.
Cover with remaining batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Note: this recipe make about 18 brownie cups...and they all got eaten.
They were SO delicious! I can't wait to make them again. That's a big deal for me. I never like to make anything twice because I always want to try new things.
Yum! I do something similar with Oreo and chocolate chip cookies. I can't wait to try these brownies.
