Baker's Twine Wrapped Christmas Trees

Now that I've made my one whole after-Halloween but before Thanksgiving decor, it's time to skip to winter. My first project is baker's twine wrapped Christmas Trees.

You will need:
-Styrofoam cone
-Baker's twine (I used blue and green)
-Hot glue gun
-Wooden Star
-Glitter (glue)

I glued the first piece of twine down along the bottom of the cone.

Then I wrapped until I got to the top. I glued again. Then I wrapped down, covering all the spots I missed. When I got to the end, I glued again.

You could stop here but I wanted to make them a little different. I took a little wooden star and coated both sides in glitter glue. For the blue twine, I chose silver and for the green I chose gold.

Then I glued them onto the top of the tree.

It's almost time to start decorating for Christmas! I always wait until the day after Thanksgiving but this year I won't be able to decorate until a week after Thanksgiving. What about you?

  1. These are so adorable and would be easy to make in an evening watching my favorite TV show. I'm just worried that I might not be able to stop once I got started!

  3. Very cute! Maybe I will make a red one. It would be neat to find little angels for the top too.
