A WaterWipes Workout + Peanut Butter Energy Bars

This post is sponsored by WaterWipes and Mommy Bag Marketing. Although I received product and financial compensation, all opinions are entirely my own.

Working out is hard. I hate it. There, I said it. But it needs to get done. When you work 9-5 Monday through Friday and have class 2 nights a week plus you try to have something that resembles a social life, it gets hard. It's easy to make excuses. Luckily, I have a great support group at work. Together, we've been going to the gym during our lunch break.

But even then it's still easy to make excuses. Working out makes you sweaty and smelly (at least, if you're doing it right). It's easy to pass by saying, "Nope, I want to smell good when I go to happy hour tonight", or "I've got class, I don't want to be gross" or "I've got a meeting later and want to look nice." When I get back from the gym, I just want to stay in my workout clothes the rest of the day. Like this:

But that's just not a reality. Enter WaterWipes, the only natural baby wipes on the market containing absolutely no chemicals, just 99.9% water and 0.1% Grapefruit Seed Extract.

WaterWipes can be used by anyone with sensitive skin: babies, toddlers, teens, or adults! After I get back from working out, I use WaterWipes to give myself a quick wipe down.

Then I can get dressed right away and get back to work!

Just so you know, anyone with a skin condition like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. can use WaterWipes. I love this because I have sensitive skin.

Now, I don't know about you, but working out makes me hungry. I always need a snack before I go to keep me energized. So I whipped up some energy bars.

Peanut Butter Energy Bars
-6 TBSP peanut butter
-1 TBSP coconut oil
-3 TBSP honey
-1/2 cup oats
-2 TBSP shredded coconut
-2 TBSP crushed peanuts

*Recipe makes about 9 bars

In a saucepan, mix peanut butter, coconut oil, and honey. Once melted and mixed together, remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.

Spread into a wax paper lined baking dish* and put in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm. You can then remove it to cut it into bars. Store in freezer or fridge.

*When I first made this recipe I did about one third of the size and I used a loaf pan. I made thin, larger bars but making it again I would make thicker, skinner bars and still use the loaf pan.

The energy bars stay pretty solid if you keep them refrigerated. However, I imagine the peanut butter could get a bit melty if left in the sun. The WaterWipes are great for cleaning up messy fingers as well! Just so you know, if you're going to use them for a more traditional approach, aka wiping your baby's bum, they also prevent diaper rash! Be sure to check WaterWipes out on Facebook and Twitter! WaterWipes are now available at your local Giant Eagle, Martin's, Stop N Shop, and Giant Food in CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RA, RI, VA, and WV.

  1. The energy bars sound delicious! You're so good to find a way to make sure you workout (I need to work on that). I've tried Water Wipes and really like how fresh they leave your skin without any chemically residue.

    1. Yeah, I really liked how they weren't heavy with product. Some wipes are sopping wet and it's too much. These were just right!
