House Stark
House Greyjoy
House Targaryen
House Baratheon
House Lannister
House Tully
I used my Silhouette to cut out the shapes of the animals each family had as their mascot. Here is an example of House Greyjoy who has a symbol of a kraken.
I, of course, washed and dried the coasters first. Remember my tight budget? These were only $.16 each!
As with my other coasters, I cut four squares of cork and glued them onto the back.
I lifted up just the design from my cutting mat using transfer paper.
Then I applied it directly onto the center of the plain coaster.
I coated each coaster in a couple layers of Martha Stewart matte decoupage. Here they all are drying. I used navy blue for the Tully fish, gold for the Lannister lion, silver for the Stark direwolf, dark brown for the Baratheon stag, red for the Targaryen dragons (by far the most difficult image to transfer), and black for the Greyjoy kraken. Why these colors? They fit the houses best out of the colors I had available and I didn't want to repeat any colors.
I'm really happy with how they turned out. Here is the finished House Tully, Greyjoy, and Baratheon coasters.
Here are the finished House Lannister, Stark, and Targaryen coasters.
Anyone else a fan of Game of Thrones? Not too much longer before the next season!
